Welcome to Hawthorne Home
Inspired by the enduring charm and design of her 107-year-old home in the historic Hawthorne Neighborhood of Fargo, Emily Johnson founded Hawthorne Home to preserve and reimagine classic interiors. The result is warm, layered spaces which embrace the craftsmanship of a bygone era for modern living. It’s a comfortable and easy breakfast nook below the symmetry of coffered ceilings; the magic of new floor-to-ceiling bookshelves brimming with well-loved hardcovers; that rare bespoke piece pairing just right with a beloved family heirloom.
With her quirky humor and inquisitive nature, Emily starts each project with a good conversation. Tell her your goals, hopes, likes (dislikes!), needs and dreams and she will listen. From there, we will create a project plan to bring your vision to life.
Hawthorne Home by Emily Johnson is committed to providing high-quality design services that are affordable and sustainable. Our goal is to exceed expectations and create spaces our clients will love for years to come.
Emily’s passion for light, color and residential architecture informed her masters’ degree from the University of Bristol in Bristol, UK. After years of living and working in Minneapolis and Manhattan, she lives happily in Fargo with her husband, young boys and two Scotties.
